I’m terrible at completing series, so I feel that if I do complete a series and love every one, it deserves to be praised! Here’s 5 series that are completed that I think you should read if you haven’t already! Just a warning, it’s a lot of gushing, so I’d recommend checking out my GoodReads for more in-depth consideration for the first book of every series!
The Feverwake duology by Victoria Lee
YA dystopia isn’t like what if was in the early 2000s, but it’s certainly not dead. In fact, it’s only improved.
This series is about Noam, the son of undocumented immigrants, who survives a magical disease that gives him powers, which means he now has to train with the minister, who Noam looks up to, and the minister’s son, who Noam hates. This series delves into power, refugee crises, and authority. This series is pretty heavy, especially The Electric Heir, so I recommend looking up the content warnings on the author’s website.
The Witch Boy by Molly Knox Ostertag
This middle grade novel trilogy is great! In this world, girls are witches and boys are shapeshifter, so when Aster wants to learn magic, he disrupts the family dynamic. He gains friends along the way and it’s just really sweet! Plus, Netflix is turning it into an animated movie musical, which is the most exciting set of words you can put in front of me!
Tensorate by Neon Yang
This series blew my mind! It’s a series of 4 silkpunk novellas about twins who are the children of the Protector who end up on very different paths. This world is very queernorm, with the twins growing up genderless and able to pick their gender when they are older. Plus the magic of the Slack is so interesting! I can’t recommend this series enough.
The Last 8 duology by Laura Pohl
Another YA dystopia series I really liked! This one leans more heavy into the sci-fi genre, as aliens take over the planet, leaving only 8 teenagers as the survivors. The first book is pretty heavy but still really good!
The Brown Sisters by Talia Hibbert
This is my most recent completed series; this trilogy of romance novels gets better with every book! It’s your classic romance series where we follow each Brown sister as they fall in love. I loved all of these sisters, but probably Dani the most! If you love romance and haven’t read these books yet, do it!
What’s your favorite series you’ve completed? Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments below!
