Recommend a book from one of your favorite genres
So initially I was going to give a recommendation for fantasy (current most-read genre) and historical fiction (past most-read genre) but then I read a book that is both! This Revel Heart by Katherine Locke is a YA historical fiction with minor fantastical elements that blew me away with the gorgeous writing!

Recommend a short book
Upright Women Wanted by Sarah Gailey is a great combination of a dystopian and western all packed in under 200 pages!

Recommend a book-to-screen adaptation
I don’t watch a lot of adaptations, but I have read a screen-to-book adaptation!
The Rise of Kyoshi by F.C. Yee is the prequel to Avatar: the Last Airbender which tells of how Kyoshi became the Avatar. This book took me on a real adventure and I can’t wait to read the sequel!

Recommend a book out of your comfort zone
I rarely read thrillers, but I when I checked my GoodRead shelf, I realized I tend to enjoy them! So clearly I need to read more of them, but for now I’ll recommend Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley. It’s an absolute standout young adult book even without the mystery element!

Recommend a book series
I adore The Feverwake duology by Victoria Lee! It is a YA dystopia series that goes hard and does not pull punches, especially with the sequel. I love Noam and Dara with all my heart and I really just want more people to read this series!

Recommend a standalone
You know I have to scream about Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas because it is absolutely one of my favorite YA paranormal fantasies with one of my all time favorite YA couples!

Recommend a book you don’t talk about enough
In completing this tag, I found a lot of books that I loved but haven’t talked about in forever, but this book, Accused by M. N. Jolley, first book in The KC Warlock Weekly series, I definitely don’t talk about enough. It’s an urban fantasy mystery series with our protagonist, Levi, who’s a queer, autistic journalist trying to solve this mystery in limited time. This book really shocked me with how much I was gripped by the story. This might be my favorite indie published book!

Recommend your “staple” book
To be honest, I think I’ve already touched on my staples, with The Fever King and Cemetery Boys, but don’t worry, I still have plenty of staples! I just love everything about Summer of Salt by ; the island setting, the sister relationship, the sapphic romance, the plot, the message, the ending!

Recommend the book(s) that got you into reading
I’ve been lucky enough to have always been a reader, so I’m not going to recommend you guys The Magic Tree House series and the Cam Jansen mysteries. Unless you have a little cousin you need to buy chapter books for.
Recommend 3+ bloggers who recommend great books
- Anna and Charolette of readsrainbow has a massive catalogue of LGBTQ+ reads!
- Julie of Stuck by Stories has a whole database of YA books with characters with disabilities!
- Utopia State of Mind is always on top of recent releases!
So many good recommendations! I have The Fever King downloaded on my Kindle and I cannot wait to read it!
