Authors I Haven’t Read, But Want To | Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This weeks topic, submitted by Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse, is “Authors I Haven’t Read, But Want To.”

R.F. Kuang

I think everyone and their mother has already read The Poppy War trilogy besides me! Kuang also has a dark academia novel coming out this year that also sounds good!

Adam Silvera

HIs contemporary books, like History Is All You Left Me, and his contemporary adjacent books, like They Both Die in the End, are definitely on my TBR!

Chloe Gong

These Violent Delights duology really took the YA book fans by storm, and every time she has a new book announced, I just get more excited to read her!

Lev A.C. Rosen

I’ve been meaning to read Jack of Hearts (and Other Parts), which is a YA contemporary book about a kid who’s blackmailed for running a sex-positive blog. And on the entirely other end of the spectrum, I want to read his 2022 release, Lavender House, which is a historical fiction.

Fonda Lee

The Green Bone Saga is another beloved adult fantasy series that I need to get to! I’m only hesitant to get to it because, like The Poppy War, it destroys everyone who reads it and it’s very long in comparrison to my normal books.

Ursula K. Le Guin

This author might be the most out of place on this list? She’s definitely the only classic author here. I really want to try out the Earthsea Cycle, which is a series of fantasy books, and I’ve also heard good things about The Lathe of Heaven, a sci-fi novel by her.

S.A. Chakraborty

Another of the super popular adult fantasy series, I still need to read The Daevabad Trilogy!

Tasha Suri

Obviously her duology, Empire of Sand and Realm of Ash, is on my Two Be Read in 2022 List, but I also wanna read the Burning Kingdoms trilogy.

Rachel Lynn Solomon

I’ve wanted to read her YA contemporaries, Our Year of Maybe and Today Tonight Tomorrow, and I want to give her debut adult romance, The Ex Talk, a try!

Tess Sharpe

For a while, the only book of hers I was interested in was Far From You, but she released The Girls I’ve Been last year and I an intrigued to this YA bisexual bank heist book.

Have you read from any of these authors before? Which authors are you dying to read from? Let me know in the comments or link your TTT post!

  1. I started reading Rachel Lynn Solomon within the past few years and I must say, she’s a new favorite of my! All of her books are so good and I especially love her newest adult romance, Weather Girl! I hope you enjoy her stuff when you pick something up!

  2. I really enjoyed Kuang’s The Poppy War series (and I’m SO excited for Babel!). Tasha Suri and Fonda Lee are also fantastic, I am a huge fan of the Green Bone Saga. I really loved Suri’s Empire of Sand and Realm of Ash books, possibly more than her trilogy (well, the first book at least!), actually! I hope you get a chance to read these authors soon!

  3. I love your picks! I’ve always wanted to read a adam silvera book (I guess I’m just kinda intimidated because there are so many of them lol). I really enjoyed the poppy war, hope you do too if you get round to it! Here’s my TTT of the week, it was a quiz on fantasy books, see how many you know! 🙂 https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2022/04/12/ttt-12-4-22-can-you-guess-what-urban-fantasy-books-these-words-are-from/

  4. Fonda Lee was on my list this week too! I really enjoyed SA Chakraborty’s books so I hope you do too. I wasn’t that big a fan of The Poppy War, so haven’t continued on with the series. I do want to try These Violent Delights again as I just wasn’t in the mood for it when I did try it. I also started The Girl’s I’ve Been earlier this year but wasn’t really in the mood, so I’ll probably come back to it at some point.
