November 2020 TBR | IndigAThon & More!

I’ve edited this post to hell and back and am finally here to share my IndigAThon TBR as well as all of the other books I want to read in November. Let’s just get into it!

IndigAThon is a readathon that lasts the entire month of November and is all about reading books by indigenous authors! Full information on the readathon, including all ways of participating can be found on their Twitter and Instagram. It’s hosted by Brody (YouTube & Twitter) and Michelle (YouTube and Twitter).

I’m planning on 3-4 books for IndigAThon and I’ll be completely upfront, I know even less than normal about these books, so don’t expect much as I go into each book.

Here is the bingo board!

Bright colorful boarder around 3 by 3 bingo board titled "IndigAThon 2020." From left to right: Intersectionality, New To You, Other Than 5CT, Middle Grade, Free Space, Buddy Read, Other Than US, Group Book, Non-Bookish Media

The Birchbark House by Louise Erdrich

This book covers the challenges “New To You,” “Middle grade,” and “Other than 5CT” (

This is historical fiction! Also it’s maybe more children’s than middle grade, but age ranges are hard, so I’m counting it.

Heartbeat Braves by Pamela Sanderson

This is the group book! The hosts also said you could totally count this as a buddy read, so I’ll be doing that!

This is an adult romance. I don’t even know the dynamic of the relationship (friends to lovers, hate to love, etc), but I’m excited to get to this one!

Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse

This covers the challenges “New To You” and “intersectionality”

It’s adult fantasy inspired by pre-Columbian American civilizations. One of the POVs is a bi ship captain and apparently there are multiple enby and trans side characters

Also, this book is a bonus pick for the Enby Book Club, which you can see on their Instagram here.

Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse

Initially I wasn’t going to include this on the TBR because I was afraid I was getting burnt out on YA fantasy, but I think I’ve taken a big enough of a break in order to

And now everything else I plan on reading!

Super Fake Love Song by David Yoon

I got this ARC from Edelweiss when it was downloadable for everyone (because I have no idea how to get approved on Edelweiss). This is a contemporary YA romance about the creation of a fake band to get the girl!

Get It Right by Skye Kilaen

I received this ARC from the author. This is an adult f/f romance novella. I believe it’s a second chance romance? I just love the cover and knew I had to request it.

The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton

I want to give this book another chance as last time I read it I DNF-ed it. Even if I don’t like it, I want to try and finish it. I hope that because I now know it has one of my triggers, I can be a little more prepared for it.

Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan

Again, I want to try this one again and at least finish it. I forget why I put it down initially, but I think it was because I wasn’t enjoying it as much as everyone else seemed to be
